George J. Hoffman, Jr. has more than 20 years of experience handling all aspects of civil and criminal litigation. Throughout this time, George has concentrated his practice on appellate litigation. George has handled all aspects of civil and criminal appellate litigation including perfecting and arguing appeals in New York’s Court of Appeals and in the Appellate Division’s Second, Third and Fourth Departments. Mr. Hoffman has been appointed to serve on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction and serves as a member of the Appellate Division, Third Department’s Assigned Counsel Panel. Prior to joining Burke, Scolamiero, Mortati & Hurd, George spent 8 years practicing at O’Connor, O’Connor, Bresee & First, P.C. where he was a Partner for his last 3 years with the firm.
Mr. Hoffman is a 1993 graduate from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh where he received his B.A. cum laude in Political Science and was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Sigma Alpha honor societies. George obtained his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for his accomplishments in legal research and writing.
Mr. Hoffman is admitted to practice in New York State; the United States District Court, Northern District of New York; and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. George is a member of the New York State, Albany County and American Bar Associations.
